Goodbye Summer, Hello 100 Pound Challenge!

Why didn't anyone tell me I gained 50 pounds back??? Sheesh! Some friends you are... Anywho, my family and I are joining forces in taking down the legendary Cler Family in a weight-loss free-for-all, aka the 100 Pound Challenge. I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little nervous. My sister doesn't care (btw get well soon, sissy), and Megan's team has more players than we do.

I pledge to go to spinning class at least three times a week as long as I'm in town. When not in town, I will walk Lucy for at least one mile a day. I also pledge to lose at least 35 lbs by our deadline - Christmas Day.

Go Team Nielsen! Good luck and I love you!

Awesome, Kel!!

I'm totally jacked and so is my fam!

I am pledging to lose 25 pounds of my family's hundo (btw we might increase ours to 125 just to be fair to your fewer members). I will go to the gym 3x a week as well as WALK instead of taking the train 2x a week (25 minutes at a brisk pace). Plus eating healthily and tracking my progress on SparkPeople!

You guys are going down!! In weight, that is :)

Also, I have started saying "PacifNDub" to mean the northwestern corner of our great country. Thoughts?

GO Kelly and Megan!

I feel like an ass being sickly thin and giving weight-loss advice, but I'm trying to be helpful and encouraging, so here's my two cents: avoid all processed foods. Okay, this is actually impossible in America, but my theory/lifestyle is that it's not all about carbs, fats, and calories, it's about the amount of unlabeled crap that's in most food these days. If it's frozen or comes with excessive packaging, it's probably not good for you, no matter what the label says.

Plus, cooking from scratch is fun! Find some recipes you like, and train yourself to go grocery shopping MORE often and buying/eating fresh! I used to put too much crap food in my body, but the amount of energy I have when I eat well is *so* worth it! Good luck (from your skinny asshole friend)!!

Good luck Nielsens!!!
Here's a fun little tip I just learned from Gina R. (fresh out of nursing school):
Lemon (in its natural form only) is a natural diuretic. When I was staying with her, she ALWAYS added lemon to her water because it is supposed to help the body remove toxins and aid in weight loss.
